Activities of the National Master Trainer Training Programme on Hotel Services under the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP)
Siem Reap Province: The first and second days of the National Master Trainer Training Programme for Hotel Services under the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP) were successfully conducted, bringing together participants to strengthen their knowledge and competencies in ASEAN tourism standards.
During the two-day programme, participants acquired new knowledge and enhanced their professional understanding through active group discussions on the following key topics:
1. Core Components of ASEAN Standards-Based Tourism Vocational Education and Training, including:
- Background and implementation framework of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP);
- Common ASEAN Tourism Curriculum (CATC);
- Regional Qualifications Framework and Skills Recognition System (RQFSRS);
- National Tourism Professional Board (NTPB);
- Tourism Professional Certification Board (TPCB);
- ASEAN Tourism Professionals Registration System (ATPRS);
- Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP);
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mechanism; and
- ASEAN MRA-TP Regional Secretariat.
2. Understanding the Competency-Based Training (CBT) Approach and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA), with emphasis on their concepts, principles, and application in tourism and hospitality education and training.
3. Roles and Responsibilities of National Master Trainers and National Master Assessors, focusing on their functions in delivering competency-based training, conducting assessments, ensuring quality assurance, and supporting the implementation of ASEAN tourism competency standards.
