Congratulations to the 79 Trainees on Successfully Completing the Second Special Advanced Training Course for Regional Tourist Guides in Siem Reap and Surrounding Areas
Siem Reap Province: On the afternoon of 17 July 2026, Dr. Chuob Ratana, Director of the Department of Tourism Vocational Training, representing H.E. Mrs. Vann Serey Roth, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, together with H.E. Kim Sothin, Deputy Director General of the APSARA National Authority, and H.E. Ngov Sengkak, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, presided over the closing ceremony of the Second Special Advanced Training Course for Regional Tourist Guides in Siem Reap and Surrounding Areas, attended by 79 trainees.
The Special Advanced Training Course was jointly organized by the Ministry of Tourism and the APSARA National Authority with the objective of strengthening the professional competencies of regional tourist guides in line with the evolving demands of the tourism industry and the principles of cultural heritage conservation. The curriculum and training materials were comprehensively updated to reflect current developments in the tourism guiding profession, while incorporating the mandates and conservation responsibilities of the APSARA National Authority. This integrated approach aims to foster a shared understanding and promote standardized professional practices in safeguarding Cambodia’s national cultural heritage and delivering responsible interpretation and promotion of heritage destinations.
Throughout the training programme, participants acquired up-to-date knowledge on recent archaeological discoveries, heritage conservation and management, as well as advanced techniques for interpreting and communicating the cultural significance of heritage sites to visitors in a professional and engaging manner. The programme was delivered by experienced specialists, researchers, and technical experts from the Ministry of Tourism and the APSARA National Authority, whose extensive practical expertise in heritage conservation and sustainable tourism development ensured both academic rigor
