Siem Reap Province: Following his presiding over the closing ceremony of the “Enterprise-Based Vocational Internship Programme for the Target Provinces of the Skills Development Programme,” H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, led a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism on a visit to the Paul Dubrule School of Hospitality and Tourism. The visit aimed to learn about the school’s training operations, achievements, challenges and development directions, as well as to explore opportunities to strengthen and expand cooperation in delivering quality human resource training aligned with ASEAN competency standards and the practical needs of the tourism labour market.
During the visit, H.E. the Minister attended a presentation on the school’s history, mission, vision, strategic direction and key activities in providing technical and vocational training, particularly in tourism services and hospitality. The training programmes cover front office operations and housekeeping, travel agency and tour operations, food and beverage services, culinary arts and bakery.
H.E. the Minister also inspected the classrooms, practical training facilities, training equipment and the school campus. He also interacted with the management team, trainers and students to gain first-hand insight into the quality of the curricula, enterprise-based internships and the students’ readiness to enter the labour market.
On this occasion, H.E. the Minister highly commended and expressed his appreciation to the school’s management, trainers and relevant partners for their contributions to equipping Cambodian youth with knowledge, competencies, professional skills, ethical values and positive work attitudes, while creating decent employment and career opportunities for them.
In particular, H.E. the Minister praised the leadership of the School Director and the dedicated efforts of colleagues at all levels and across all departments in training and developing a skilled workforce for the tourism industry. Since 2002, the school has trained more than 6,000 tourism professionals.
