Siem Reap Province: As part of the ongoing National Assessor Training Programme for Hotel Services under the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP), participants actively engaged in interactive learning sessions, technical discussions, and collaborative group activities covering the following key topics:
Module 1: Reviewing the Essential Requirements for Competency-Based Tourism Training Using the ASEAN Toolboxes
1.1 Understanding the Key Components Supporting the ASEAN Tourism Qualifications Framework
- Common ASEAN Tourism Curriculum (CATC)
- Regional Qualifications Framework and Skills Recognition System (RQFSRS)
- National Tourism Professional Board (NTPB)
-Tourism Professional Certification Board (TPCB)
- ASEAN Tourism Professionals Registration System (ATPRS)
- ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP)
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- ASEAN MRA-TP Regional Secretariat
1.2 Competency-Based Training and Competency Assessment
- Definition of Competency
- Dimensions of Competency
- Competency-Based Training (CBT)
- Competency-Based Assessment (CBA)
Beyond the theoretical sessions, participants actively took part in group discussions, case study analyses, peer knowledge exchange, and practical exercises on applying ASEAN competency assessment methodologies. These interactive learning activities enhanced participants’ understanding of competency-based assessment principles while strengthening their capacity to conduct assessments in a professional, transparent, fair, and standards-based manner.
The training programme forms part of the Ministry of Tourism’s continued commitment to strengthening the capacity of national tourism assessors, promoting internationally recognized competency standards, and supporting the effective implementation of the ASEAN MRA-TP. These efforts contribute to enhancing the quality, credibility, and regional competitiveness of Cambodia’s tourism workforce in line with ASEAN standards.
