Ministry of Tourism Headquarters: On the afternoon of 23 September 2026, H.E. Vann Sereyrath, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, presided over a meeting to review and assess the Cambodia Tourism Professionals Registration System (CTPRS).
The meeting was attended by the Director General of Tourism Industry Management, the Director of the Department of Tourism Professional Training, the Director of the Department of Travel Agencies, Transport and Tourist Guides Management, Deputy Directors of relevant departments, Office Chiefs, and technical officials of the General Department of Tourism Industry Management, with approximately 25 participants in attendance.
In her remarks, H.E. the Under Secretary of State emphasized that the review and improvement of the Cambodia Tourism Professionals Registration System (CTPRS) constitute an important undertaking to strengthen the management system for tourism professionals, ensuring greater efficiency, transparency, and alignment with the evolving digital technology landscape.
The CTPRS has been developed with the following key objectives:
1. Establishment of a Centralized Registration Platform: To register and issue identification numbers to tourism professionals, trainers, and assessors, as well as to officially recognize tourism vocational training institutions and their training programmes.
2. Strengthening Capacity Building and Self-Learning: To provide a self-learning platform offering skills development programmes aligned with national and ASEAN curricula, including the HoKa programme, covering hotel services, travel services, and spa and wellness skills.
3. Enhancement of Verification and Data Security: To establish verification functions through QR codes incorporated into certificates and professional identification numbers, thereby strengthening the reliability and security of professional credentials.
4. Promotion of Job Market Matching: To provide a platform for job vacancies and employment opportunities, connecting private-sector employers with tourism professionals, students, and vocational training institutions.
5. Facilitation of Automated Reporting and Management: To support the Departments of Tourism at the capital and provincial levels in collecting and reporting tourism workforce data to the Ministry on a monthly basis in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Strengthening Communication and Engagement: To enhance communication among relevant stakeholders through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and multichannel notification functions, including SMS, email, Telegram, and system notifications.
In conclusion, H.E. the Under Secretary of State commended the working team and instructed the relevant technical teams to continue reviewing the system’s functions, data, and operational processes. Particular attention should be given to ensuring that the registration, updating of information, and management of tourism professionals’ data are conducted in a user-friendly, timely, accurate, and secure manner.
At the same time, stronger coordination among relevant institutions was encouraged to ensure the completeness and reliability of data within the system, enabling it to serve as a sound basis for management, planning, and human resource development in the tourism sector.
The development of the CTPRS represents an important step toward advancing digital transformation in the tourism sector, in line with the Royal Government’s strategic directions and the Ministry of Tourism’s human resource development priorities. The system is expected to contribute to more effective management of tourism professionals, strengthen the quality of vocational training and professional competency recognition, and provide reliable data to support policy formulation, strategic planning, and the sustainable and competitive development of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
