Siem Reap Province: On the afternoon of 19 October 2026, under the high-level authorization of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, H.E. Chhun Makara, Director General of Tourism Industry Management, accompanied by the Director of the Department of Tourism Professional Training and technical officials from the Department, paid a visit to the tourism vocational training school operated by the Youth Dream Fulfillment Association.
The visit aimed to monitor, inspect, and evaluate the final assessment process for trainees of the Association’s 12th cohort, as well as review the Association’s training implementation and performance, with a view to strengthening training quality and ensuring that tourism vocational training programmes remain aligned with professional standards and labour market requirements.
During the visit, H.E. the Director General encouraged the leadership and staff of the tourism vocational training school to continue fulfilling their mission of providing high-quality tourism vocational education and training with professionalism, commitment, and accountability. He also emphasized the importance of continuously improving curricula, teaching methodologies, and practical training to ensure alignment with occupational competency standards and the evolving needs of the labour market.
Furthermore, H.E. the Director General encouraged the Association to strengthen its commitment to youth development, particularly by providing disadvantaged young people with equitable access to education and skills development opportunities. Such efforts are essential to equipping young people with the knowledge, professional skills, ethical values, and competencies necessary to compete effectively in the labour market.
On this occasion, H.E. the Director General, together with the Director of the Department of Tourism Professional Training and the Department’s technical officials, observed the procedures and implementation of the final assessments for trainees of the Association’s 12th cohort. Having completed ten months of institution-based training, the trainees demonstrated their knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies through the final assessment process.
The assessments covered four tourism occupational areas: Front Office Operations, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service, and Cookery. The assessments were conducted by qualified instructors and assessors who had successfully completed the National Master Assessor Training Programme in accordance with the principles of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP), through training facilitated by the Ministry of Tourism in Siem Reap Province.
It is noteworthy that the Youth Dream Fulfillment Association provides full scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees for an entire training programme each year. The Association offers vocational training in housekeeping, food and beverage services, hospitality, and assistant cookery, complemented by supporting subjects such as English and computer skills.
From 2016 to 2026, the Association provided vocational training to a total of 603 trainees, including 364 women, demonstrating its continued contribution to tourism workforce development and the promotion of inclusive access to vocational education and training in Cambodia.
