Ministry of Tourism Headquarters: On the afternoon of 22 September 2026, Dr. Chuob Ratana, Director of Tourism Professional Training Department and Chair of the Secretariat of the National Committee for Tourism Professionals, led technical officials of the Department in a working meeting with Mr. Tim Gamper, Tourism Expert of the Formulation Team of the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev), to explore potential areas of cooperation in strengthening training programmes for the hospitality and tourism sectors. The cooperation aims to enhance the capacity and competencies of the tourism workforce to effectively respond to the actual demands of the labour market and international standards.
During the meeting, Dr. Chuob Ratana warmly welcomed Mr. Tim Gamper and highly valued the initiative to establish a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism. He also highlighted the visionary leadership and strong commitment of H.E. the Minister of Tourism to the development of human resources in the tourism sector through the implementation of three key training programmes, namely: the Hospitality Kampuchea (HoKa) Programme, training programmes aligned with the Cambodia Qualifications Framework (CQF), and training programmes based on the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP).
These programmes serve as important mechanisms for enhancing the quality and professional competencies of tourism professionals, expanding employment opportunities, and strengthening their competitiveness and prospects for labour mobility within the region and internationally.
The establishment and strengthening of cooperation among the Ministry of Tourism, development partners, and relevant stakeholders in human resource development will contribute to the development of a responsive, flexible, and market-oriented skills development system. Such collaboration will further support the alignment of tourism workforce development with regional and international standards, while ensuring that training provision remains relevant to the evolving needs of the labour market.
