Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of 9 July 2026, Dr. Choub Ratana, Director of Tourism Professional Training department and Head of the Secretariat of the National Tourism Professional Development Committee (NTPDC), chaired a technical working group meeting to review and finalize preparations for the implementation of the following training programmes:
1. Opening Ceremony of the 28th Regional Tourist Guide Training Programme for Siem Reap and Surrounding Regions, to be held on 11 July 2026 at the Vanda University, Siem Reap Branch, Siem Reap Province.
2. Training Programme for National Master Trainers and National Assessors in accordance with the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP), scheduled from 13–19 July 2026 at Spoons Hospitality School and Pop-Up Café, Siem Reap Province.
3. The 2nd Advanced Tourist Guide Training Programme, organized in collaboration with the APSARA National Authority, to be conducted from 13–17 July 2026 in Siem Reap Province.
4. Community Tourist Guide Training Programme, jointly organized with the Stung Treng Provincial Administration and the Provincial Department of Tourism, to be held from 26–30 July 2026 in Stung Treng Province.
Through these training programmes, the Ministry of Tourism continues to strengthen human resource development in the tourism sector by enhancing the knowledge, professional competencies, and practical skills of tourist guides, master trainers, and assessors in accordance with national standards and the ASEAN MRA-TP Competency Standards. These initiatives aim to improve the quality of tourism services, strengthen visitor confidence, and support the sustainable development and international competitiveness of Cambodia’s tourism industry.
