Phnom Penh: On the morning of 11 August 2026, Dr. Choub Ratana, Director of Professional Training Department and Chairperson of the Secretariat of the National Committee for Tourism Professionals, presided over a technical working group meeting to review, discuss, and make the necessary preparations for two upcoming programmes to be organized in Siem Reap Province, namely:
1. Training Programme for National Master Trainers and National Master Assessors in Hotel Services, in accordance with the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP) competency standards, which will be conducted from 17 to 23 August 2026 in Siem Reap Province.
2. Dissemination Workshop on the “Basic Education Equivalent Programme (BEEP) in the Tourism Sector,” which will be held on 17 August 2026 at the Techo Sen Siem Reap Polytechnic Institute.
During the meeting, the technical working group reviewed the action plan, allocation of responsibilities, coordination mechanisms with relevant stakeholders, and other necessary arrangements to ensure that both programmes are implemented smoothly and effectively and achieve their intended objectives.
The organization of these programmes forms part of the Ministry of Tourism’s ongoing efforts to develop human resources and enhance the quality of tourism services in Cambodia, contributing to a more professional, high-quality, and competitive tourism workforce capable of meeting standards at both the ASEAN and international levels.
