From 11 to 16 September 2026, the Pursat Provincial Department of Tourism assigned five trainee trainers, including three women, to participate in a professional internship programme at tourism service establishments in Siem Reap Province. The internship focused on different professional skills, as follows:
1. Ms. Keo Sereyvichra, Head of the Training and Education Office, undertook professional internship training in Food and Beverage Service at Park Hyatt Siem Reap.
2. Mr. Sam Prathna, Head of the Clean City Office, undertook professional internship training in Cookery at Lynnaya Urban River Resort & Spa.
3. Ms. Mao Sovidthia, Deputy Head of the Training and Education Office, undertook professional internship training in Housekeeping at Angkor Grace.
4. Mr. Sok Sathon, Deputy Head of the Planning, Investment and Tourism Product Development Office, undertook professional internship training in Food and Beverage Service at Borei Angkor Resort & Spa.
5. Ms. Thai Chariya, Contract-Based Officer, undertook professional internship training in Front Office Operations at Park Hyatt Siem Reap.
Overall Results
1. Bridging Theory and Practical Application
The programme enabled the participants to translate theoretical knowledge acquired through classroom learning and Trainer/Assessor training programmes into practical workplace competencies, particularly through the direct delivery of professional services to international guests in a five-star hospitality environment.
2. Skills Development and Professional Confidence
The participants strengthened their technical competencies (hard skills) while further developing essential soft skills, including foreign-language communication, professional discipline, teamwork, and the ability to respond to and resolve workplace challenges with greater confidence.
Future Goals
The participants are committed to applying the knowledge, skills, and professional experience gained through the internship to further develop their careers in the hospitality and tourism sector. They also aim to strengthen their professional competencies and contribute meaningfully to the development of the tourism sector in Pursat Province and Cambodia as a whole.
