Stung Treng Province: On 29 July 2026, with the high approval of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and under the guidance of Dr. Chuob Ratana, Director of the Tourism Professionals Training Department, Ms. Ros Solika, Deputy Director of the Tourism Professionals Training Department, served as a lead trainer in the Community Tour Guide Training Programme for trainees in Stung Treng Province.
During the training, the instructor shared practical knowledge, professional experience, and technical expertise on the core module entitled “The Roles and Responsibilities of Tour Guides.” This foundational lesson is designed to strengthen the competencies of community tour guides in delivering accurate information, interpreting tourism resources effectively, and providing high-quality visitor care with professionalism and confidence.
The training module focuses on the following key learning objectives:
1. Strengthening participants’ understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and professional obligations of tour guides.
2. Developing professional attitudes, ethics, and personal attributes appropriate for delivering quality tourism services.
3. Enhancing guiding, interpretation, and presentation skills to communicate tourism information accurately, engagingly, and effectively.
4. Building competencies in leading tour groups safely, efficiently, and with confidence.
5. Understanding the key factors that influence tourists’ travel decisions and destination choices.
6. Improving communication, interpersonal relations, and customer engagement skills with visitors and tourism stakeholders.
7. Developing strategies to create memorable and positive visitor experiences that encourage repeat visitation.
8. Strengthening the capacity to assess visitor satisfaction and continuously improve service quality.
This training module plays a vital role in preparing community tour guides with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional attitudes required to represent their destinations and local communities while delivering high-quality tourism services. Strengthening these competencies contributes to enhancing visitor experiences, increasing tourist satisfaction and loyalty, and supporting the sustainable development and competitiveness of Cambodia’s tourism industry.
Furthermore, the training serves as an important preparation for improving service quality in anticipation of the upcoming Green Season Tourism Event 2026, held under the theme “The Ecotourism Potential of Northeastern Cambodia During the Green Season 2026,” scheduled to take place on 8–9 August 2026 in Stung Treng Province.
