From July 15 to 16, 2026, the Ministry of Tourism, under the framework of the Cambodia Hospitality Training (HoKa) Steering Committee, in collaboration with Swisscontact, successfully organized a Technical and Reflection Workshop on the Implementation of the HoKa Program. The two-day event was conducted in an atmosphere of close cooperation and high professional responsibility.
The primary objective of this workshop was to review, evaluate, and reflect upon past implementation activities. Furthermore, it aimed to establish new strategic directions to ensure high efficiency and long-term sustainability in delivering professional tourism and hospitality vocational training to youth and industry professionals.
The workshop engaged in in-depth deliberations on key technical areas, structured as follows:
1. Dissemination of the Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policy within the HoKa program framework
2. Strengthening strategic communications, public relations, and financial planning management
3. Presentation on the progress of the "Green HoKa" initiative
4. Review of the tourism mapping, reflection on training processes, and the utilization of the integrated database system
5. Comprehensive SWOT analysis of the tourism sector across the 12 target provinces to gather strategic inputs, synthesize findings, and formulate highly effective action plans for future implementation
The outcomes achieved during this workshop will serve as a vital roadmap and institutional milestone. They will guide the Ministry of Tourism, Swisscontact, Provincial Departments of Tourism, and all relevant stakeholders across the 12 target provinces in enhancing training capacities to meet the evolving demands of both domestic and international tourism growth.
