Siem Reap Province: H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the National Committee for Tourism Professionals presided over the opening ceremony of the ''Tourism Employment Matching Forum 2026'' and also presented certificates to successful trainees who completed the training courses for National Master Trainers and National Assessors in Hotel Services, as well as the Spa and Wellness Skills Training Course.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Ngov Sengkak, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, representing the Siem Reap Provincial Administration; Mr. François Schnoebelen, Director of Paul Dubrule Hospitality and Tourism School; leaders of relevant ministries and institutions; representatives of the Skills Development Fund (SDF) and the National Employment Agency (NEA); tourism operators; tourism associations; training institutions; trainees; and approximately 400 job seekers. The event took place at Paul Dubrule Hospitality and Tourism School in Siem Reap Province.
In his remarks, the Minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the relevant ministries and institutions, development partners, cooperating partners, tourism associations, training institutions, and private sector operators for their cooperation in organizing the forum and contributing to the training and development of human resources in the tourism sector. He also thanked all employers for bringing job and internship opportunities to Cambodian youth. The forum brought together more than 100 companies, offering over 5000 job opportunities, and was expected to attract approximately 3000 job seekers to apply and participate in direct job interviews.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of this first ever Tourism Employment Matching Forum in connecting vocational skills training with the actual needs of the labor market. It also provides job seekers with opportunities to meet and connect directly with employers and access employment opportunities that match their skills and abilities. He emphasized that skills development should not end after completing a training course. Instead, a culture of lifelong learning and continuous training should be promoted so that tourism professionals can continue to strengthen their capabilities in line with the evolving tourism industry.
At the same time, the Minister stressed that human resource development is a key priority in improving the quality of Cambodia’s tourism sector, in line with the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1, which identifies People as the first priority that aims to develop human resources with professional skills, competitiveness, ethics, and integrity. The Ministry of Tourism is now working to align the HoKa training programme with the Cambodia National Qualifications Framework so that professional skills and work experience can be officially recognized and clearer career pathways can be established.
Furthermore, the Minister made several recommendations to all relevant stakeholders to continue strengthening cooperation in vocational training and skills development; expand employment matching forums to other key tourism destinations, including Phnom Penh and the coastal areas; and promote the use of the Cambodia Tourism Professional Registration System (CTPRS) for learning, training management, and finding suitable employment opportunities. In particular, he encouraged the promotion of skills assessment through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) mechanism, enabling tourism professionals to obtain qualifications in accordance with national and ASEAN standards.
It should be noted that Paul Dubrule Hospitality and Tourism School in Siem Reap Province has contributed to the training and development of human resources for Cambodia’s tourism sector since 2002, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism. The school provides training in line with ASEAN standards and has trained more than 6000 tourism professionals to date.
